How Sensi handles sleep schedules
Sensi smart thermostats (Sensi Touch, Sensi Touch 2, Sensi Lite) support time-based scheduling through the Sensi app. You can set up to four scheduled periods per day — typically Home, Away, Sleep, and Wake. The Sleep period sets a target temperature and holds it until the Wake period begins.
That is a single hold: one temperature from bedtime to morning. It is the same limitation you see on every smart thermostat.
Why one temperature is not enough
Your core body temperature drops as you fall asleep, reaches its lowest point during deep sleep in the first half of the night, then rises gradually toward morning. How to build a multi-phase schedule on Sensi
Sensi's scheduling system is more limited than ecobee's or Nest's in terms of the number of schedule periods. Depending on your model, you may be able to add additional schedule points through the Sensi app.
- Open the schedule in the Sensi app. Go to your thermostat and tap the schedule section.
- Set the Sleep period. Set your bedtime temperature — around 67°F is a reasonable starting point.
- Add a Wake period timed to your alarm. Set the Wake temperature to 68–69°F, timed 30–60 minutes before your actual alarm.
- Manual adjustments for deep sleep. If your Sensi model supports additional schedule periods, add a lower setpoint about 30–60 minutes after bedtime (around 65°F) for the deep-sleep window.
Where this breaks down
Sensi's scheduling is designed for broad daytime periods, not fine-grained overnight control. If your model limits you to four daily periods, you may not be able to build a full four-phase overnight curve. And even with manual setpoints, a fixed schedule does not shift when your bedtime does.
